The RilesSight and Rightsight are 20tpi rack = .050"
so each notch equals 5 minutes English (0.010" per minute) or 6 minutes Australian (0.00833" per minute).
If your elevation records are in Australian minute, multiply 5/6 or .833 to arrive at correct elevation.
The recommended elevations on the foresight for RilesSights sold after 01 December 2010 are:
notch 24 = 300 yards
notch 30 = 500 yards
notch 36 = 600 yards
notch 42 = 700 yards
notch 48 = 800 yards
notch 54 = 900 yards
notch 60 = 1000 yards
notch 60 = lowest possible position
Most 18mm and 22mm foresights are 1.250" centres whereas the RilesSight on notch 24 is 1.520" =.270" higher.
Therefore, your starting zero on notch 24 at 300 yards is ~ 27 minutes English higher on your rear sight
than your current 300 yard zero or 270/8.33" = 32.5 minutes Australian higher.
If the centres of your current foresight are lower tham 1.250", add the difference to the 27/32.5 minutes on your rear sight.
The final elevation on your rearsight will depend on:
sight radius,
bullet type,
powder load,
metric or imperial ranges
English or Australian minute rear sights.
Indexing of foresight lens (we suggest making small index line at 6 o'clock)
We recommend zeroing your rifle at 300 yards.
Then set the zero on the rear sight elevation scale plate
RilesSights: 30 verniers = 300 yards
RightSights: 20 verniers = 300 yards.
Then shoot all ranges to determine rear sight final elevations.
